The kids started school today! Crazy...all three in school full time...whatever will I do?
Megan is in 1st grade. She has a teacher that we knew and were familiar with. This is a good thing, because Megan is shy at first. Sometimes, it takes her awhile to warm up to someone or a situation. She came home saying her teacher is the best ever! She had so much fun...what a relief!
Sam is in 3rd grade. He's at a new school this year; he has new teachers, etc. It was hardest for me to say bye to him this morning. He has a bus that takes him to school and another one that drops him off after school. His school is about 20-minutes away from our house...it's so far! I'm used to him being about 5-minutes away, like last year. He had a great day today, too. He came home and informed me that his teacher is really nice. He gets a daily percentage grade...today he got 100%! He's NEVER received that high of a grade before. I am so proud of him. I know it's hard for him to adjust to a new and different situation, so this was/is a big deal.
Abby is in 5th grade; her last year at elementary school. She got the teacher she wanted, so she came home happy, also. She is excited about this year in general, but mostly about outdoor school (that happens at the end of the year). The only thing she was sad about is that her best friend isn't in the same class. It's OK though; they have a "meeting place" and get to see each other at recess, etc. You'd think those two were inseparable...
I enjoyed the quiet time. I felt less stressed at work, because I knew the kids were doing some things they enjoyed while I got the things done that I needed to.
Travis's job is going well. He likes the work and likes the environment. I hope it lasts awhile. He's a good man and he deserves a good job. I'm glad he went through all the schooling he recently went through. Even though it was tough at times, the fact that he stuck it out for five years (Bachelor's = 4-years + Master's = 1-year) is amazing.
Now it's my turn! I've decided to go back to school. I don't know when exactly, but I'll be going for about 7-years. I want to be a pharmacist. Because I haven't had much schooling, I have to take prerequisites for about 3-years, then go to pharmacy school for 4-years. I love chemistry and I like that sort of environment; plus, the pay is really good;)
